Born in 1970 – raised by Star Wars, saturday morning cartoons, my green machine, and trading cards in the bike spokes to make it sound like a motorcycle.
Teenager in the 80s – world views shaped by MTV, D&D, sega genesis and cable television.
Young Adult in the 90s – identity formed by grunge music, fantasy football, the internet and a steady salary.
Adult in the 00s – surviving with marriage, home ownership, microbrews, grilling, writing, podcasts, satellite TV, NetFlix, my iPod and friends.

Something happened recently, to my amazement I realized that I had lost touch with discovering new music. I was looking through my iPod and was just kind of tired with what was on there. Upon further inspection, I hadn’t downloaded anything different in about 5 years. By different, I mean… new artists or something that wasn’t on the radio a lot.
So, over the past few months, I have been fanatically looking for new bands, and digging through the past 5 or so years to see what I missed.
What I find interesting is that most of my friends are the same way. They rely on what they hear on the radio to provide them with new music. Bad idea.
This blog is a forum for me to share with what I have discovered and want to share with my friends… new and old.
